Oil Company Launches Unprecedented Engine Guarantee

Companies that produce automotive engine oils say a lot about how good their products are in preventing engine wear. Now, representatives of Valvoline, a product of Ashland, have decided to do more than just talk about engine protection, by offering an innovative engine guarantee. The offer is simple: register your vehicle at the Valvoline Web site, use Valvoline motor oil regularly, and your engine can be guaranteed up to 300,000 miles.

“We’re putting our money where our mouth is,” said Sam Mitchell, president, Ashland Consumer Markets (Valvoline). “We want to keep people on the road -- period. Vehicles that use Valvoline continue to perform. We have the utmost confidence in our products, so we’re excited to now offer this best-in-class guarantee.”

Drivers can register to participate in the Valvoline Engine Guarantee program via a simple three-step process at the company’s Web site. Vehicles are eligible to be registered only before reaching 75,000 miles. Participants can choose to opt-in to the Valvoline Engine Guarantee program at various levels. For instance, if one used Valvoline Premium Conventional motor oil, the engine would be guaranteed up to 150,000 miles. Use of MaxLife and DuraBlend motor oils qualify for a guarantee of up to 225,000 miles and for maximum protection. And for a guarantee of up to 300,000 miles, use SynPower Full Synthetic or MaxLife Full Synthetic motor oils.
