Cutting Commuting Expenses

April showers might make riding a bike to work seem daunting, but by choosing an electric bike at least you won’t have to pedal. As the spring season blossoms and the warm weather triggers outdoor activity, gas prices have forced many to shrink their budget. While some have considered hybrid vehicles or public transportation to cut costs, a new store has launched the Green Cruiser, an innovatively designed electric bike that promises a practical and dependable ride.

In Europe, the electric bicycle is quickly becoming the trend for an eco-friendly and efficient mode of transportation. Similar to traditional bikes in appearance, these new bikes are powered with the turn of a key, and they start moving with the push of a handlebar-mounted throttle. To the delight of the lazy, pedaling is not required.

The Green Cruiser is a lightweight bike that is easy to maneuver. It weighs only 50 pounds and can transport you for a distance of up to 30 miles. While it can drive at upwards of 18 miles per hour, you can relax without pedaling and still travel at 10 to 15 mph.

PremiumElectricBikes offers the Green Cruiser in three models to match riders of every size. The Green Cruiser Eclipse is the smallest -- with 24-inch wheels -- and it comes in both blue and green. The Storm model comes in black-and-silver or red-and-silver combinations and 26-inch wheels. And for riders who stand more than 6 feet tall, the Thunder sits on 28-inch wheels in the same color combinations. All three models feature a six-speed Shimano Gear system and a unique electric motion propulsion and control system. List price for all three models is around $1,200.
