Gifts for you Car at Holiday Time

You got Uncle Louie a necktie and Aunt Flora a fruitcake, but we have to ask, when Christmas came, did you get anything for your vehicle? Oh, you didn't know you were supposed to? Well, the good news about getting a gift for your car is that it is also a gift for you. Bob Arlotta, NAPA auto parts' 2008 Technician of the Year, encourages drivers to spoil their vehicles this time of year, and he offers the following gift ideas that will make any vehicle (and its owner) happy:

Transmission Flush
Scheduling regular transmission flushes keeps the transmission fluid new and vastly decreases the chance of expensive transmission repairs.

Exterior Detailing
Arlotta recommends washing and waxing your vehicle regularly. Wax preserves the car's shine and protects the surface from the ill effects of salt residue that can accumulate on your vehicle throughout the winter.

Floor Mats
A vehicle's floor mats endure lots of wear and tear throughout the year. Purchasing a new set will keep your vehicle looking its best and help make sure your wet foot doesn't accidentally slip off the pedal.

Tire Alignment
With winter storms popping up around the country, pot holes will soon begin to make annoying appearances. To keep your vehicle running smoothly, Arlotta recommends maintaining a proper alignment maintenance schedule to avoid uneven tire wear and tear.

Cabin Air Filter
The cabin air filter helps trap pollen, bacteria, dust and exhaust gases that may find their way into a vehicle's ventilation system, making the interior of the vehicle a healthier place for you and your family.

Speaker System
Replace your vehicle's factory speakers with a new set of custom speakers for stronger bass and improved clarity when listening to your favorite tunes.

Vent Visor Deflectors
Vent visor deflectors are designed to let fresh air in and keep rain out. These devices not only enhance the overall look of your vehicle, but also allow drivers to keep their windows cracked open during rain storms without having to worry about getting wet.

Remote Starter
While sitting comfortably in your home, a remote starter allows you to ignite and warm your engine before venturing out into an early morning blizzard. Remote starters are available at NAPA Stores and can be installed at your local NAPA AutoCare Center.

Battery Service
Most batteries now require little regular maintenance, but to extend life and maintain performance, an ASE-certified service technician should check and clean your vehicle's battery, as well as charge it when needed.

Premium Headlights
Most people never have to replace their headlights, but it's always a good idea to consider upgrading to premium headlights as they play an important role in your ability to drive safely at night. Headlights with stronger reflection capabilities can allow drivers of all ages to anticipate potential trouble and proactively avoid a problem instead of having to make a split-second reaction.
