Car Enthusiast Sites - By Model

AlfaClubhouse - Here's a delightful site devoted to and created by Alfa Romeo enthusiasts in Oregon. Good fun. And don't laugh. Once upon a time Alfas were among the most respected automobiles in the world.

Aston Martin Owners Club - Since the 1920's Aston Martin has been famous for building strong, high performance automobiles for connoisseurs.

Austin-Healey Club - There are several Austin-Healey sites on the web but this one, though somewhat lacking in design niceties, is our favorite because it doesn't obsess itself with one particular A-H model. Has nice photos and an index of useful articles.

AutoGuide - This site claims to be the largest automotive Web site directory on the Internet. With over 7,000 Web sites catalogued with descriptions, they link to over 300 car, racing, and motorcycle clubs.

Automobiles - Comprehensive automotive site. Buy new and used cars. Sell your car, obtain auto financing, insurance, auto products and services. Read headline news, feature articles, and more.

Blue Oval Home Page - This is a delightful surprise, filled with all sorts of enthusiast oriented stuff for Ford fanciers. It covers all their current products of course, but its historical content is where it really begins to sing.

Buick Club of America - This is an excellent Web site, smoothly functioning and well organized and containing absolutely everything a Buick fancier might expect that there's no classified section and no way to find parts. Very good photo gallery.

Buick Skylark - This site is lovingly devoted to one particular model of one particular make, the Buick Skylark of 1953 and 1954. Strikingly styled by GM's design studios under the direction of the legendary Harley Earl, it was priced at $5000.

Chrysler 300 Club - Back when gasoline was cheap and there was no such thing as too much horsepower Chrysler introduced the first 300 in 1955 and kicked serious butt in the horse -power race for the next ten years. This is a fine Web site with many enjoyable features.

Corvette Trivia - If you're fond of the Corvette in its many manifestations over the years you might look in here. There's a wealth of obscure stuff about the beloved Plastic Pig; who first had the idea, when and where, who named it, etc.

Crosley Automobile Club - Here's a surprisingly entertaining site for this all but forgotten automobile. The seem to be pretty active too, with many photos of cars attending club events over the last couple of years.

Crutchfield - Crutchfield has been in the business of supplying us with electronic gear for 25 years now, ranging from phones, security systems and serious audio to audio and video for the home.

Datsun Z-Car Home Page - If you own a Datsun Z-Car, or if you once did and remember it fondly, by all means look in here. You may be surprised how thoroughly and enthusiastically the "Z" is covered. This is one of the best single-model sites we've seen.

Fiero Owners Club - The word misbegotten comes to mind. GM's management never seemed understand the Fiero, what it was for or who might be interested in it.

Flaming Fords - Here's an odd one. It seems that there are enough folks out there who have had their 1983-1993 Ford car or truck catch fire because of faulty ignition switches for them to form a support group, hire lawyers and seek out other such unfortunates.

International MR2 Owners Club - This is an excellent Web site devoted to the exceptionally nice but now discontinued mid-engined Toyota MR2. Everything you could possibly want to know about finding and maintaining this car is here.

JeepJournal - This site is full of optimism but it falls flat way before its objectives are reached because of dumb design. Much of the text is unreadable because it's laid over messy, muddy backgrounds.

Kaiser-Frazer Owners Club - This is a most enjoyable club Web site, fully featured and ligically laid out, it celebrates these all but forgotten motorcars and is a trenchant reminder of how much more diverse the American automotive scene used to be.

Lowrider VW's - This is a lowrider club specializing in air-cooled Volkswagens. They are based in San Jose, California and claim to organize club events, but most of the links to their various activities didn't work the last time we looked in.

Maserati Club of Australia - There was time when Maserati was as feared and respected as Ferrari is today, and in fact they were a major force in Grand Prix racing long before Ferrari ever existed.

MG Owners Club - If you like MG's, and better yet if you own one, then you might consider joining this club which describes itself as the largest single marque car club in the world.

Model T Ford Club - Here's a fine example of what a serious car club can do in creating a Web site for its members. Lots of features, plus a model-by-model history of the car that put America on wheels.

National DeSoto Club - Gone since 1961 but clearly not forgotten, the DeSoto is celebrated here with all the loving enthusiasm that might be devoted to Rolls-Royce. There's a good history of the marque, a directory of club events and a fine classified section.

Rolls-Royce & Bentlley Motor Cars - This is a nice site revealing, if not breakthrough information - these bones have been picked over for too long for that to happen - at least a good variety of accurate information. Carlo Talaino's Continental R is worth the visit all by itself.

Simca Club - Gone but not quite forgotten, the Simca was a mild success here in the 1950's and 1960's but they finally sank into invisibility where they remain today. Still, they do have their devotees, and you'll find many of them here.

The AMX Files - It may be gone but it clearly hasn't been forgotten. For three years during the late 'sixties American Motors built a fierce little street fighter of a car called the AMX.

Tim's Edsel Emporium - This Edsel Owners' Club site is a lively, cheerful place for enthusiasts of this make to gather and compare notes. There are plenty of photos of the various models, recent and contemporary.

Vintage Chevrolet Club of America - Begun in 1961 by twelve Chevy collectors, the VCCA today boasts 7,800 members and this Web site serves their interests very well. Lots of links to forthcoming club events, technical information, club history and more.
