Look Inside Your Engine

How would you like to have the opportunity to peer inside your vehicle’s engine as it runs? Oil analysis allows motorists to test a sample of their engine oil and virtually see inside their vehicle’s engine, finding potentially critical issues before they become severe. Oil analysis also enables individual motorists and fleet managers to obtain optimum equipment life by preventing premature equipment failure.

Synthetic oil pioneer Amsoil has recently revamped its affiliate, Oil Analyzers Inc. (OAI), and it is now offering its services at three state-of-the-art facilities across the U.S. Testing includes examinations of engine oil for dirt, wear particles, fuel dilution and coolant.

“One of the major applications for oil analysis has been to determine serviceability of motor oils for extended service life,” said Ed Kellerman, manager of Oil Analyzers Inc. “Truck fleets and owner operators have historically used oil analysis to reduce the amount of equipment downtime and to ensure that their engine oil is still good to go.”

OAI sample kits are available individually or per case of 50 or 100. Consumers have the option of purchasing the kits with return postage paid, or they can choose to pay when they return the kit for testing. OAI utilizes oil analysis labs in Salt Lake City, Houston and Indianapolis to enable faster turnaround times to its fleet and individual customers. When the testing is complete, the data is compiled into a user-friendly, easy-to-understand report with detailed information on the condition of the engine.
